At a budget-friendly price you get a 12.5-inch pan that works on every cooktop type, which makes it the easiest recommendation for anyone who doesn't know — or doesn't want to check — what kind of hob they have.
The Thermo-Spot heat indicator carries over from the Specialty line, and it remains genuinely useful. It turns solid red when the pan reaches the right searing temperature, which prevents the two most common nonstick mistakes: adding food too early (so it sticks) and waiting too long (so the coating degrades). It's a visual cue that eliminates guesswork, especially for newer cooks.
The limitations are worth knowing. Silicone handles mean oven use caps at 400°F — enough for a finishing burst, not for a full braise. The nonstick coating, while better than basic PTFE, will still wear under aggressive daily use within a year or two. And at 12.5 inches this is a large pan that needs a corresponding burner to heat evenly. On a small induction zone it may develop cool edges.
